According to Kevin Parkyn, a meteorologist with the Bureau of Meteorology, a low-pressure system moving in from the Great Australian Bight is predicted to clash with tropical moisture from northern Australia. This combination creates an ideal atmosphere for thunderstorms to develop.
The interplay of these two systems will result in increasing humidity, which, along with the strengthening low-pressure system, will most likely result in thunderstorms by Friday morning. As the day develops, the probability of severe storms grows, potentially resulting in hazardous conditions in the afternoon.

“As these thunderstorms intensify, we anticipate that they will result in heavy rainfall, flash flooding, large hail, and damaging gusts,” Parkyn informed reporters..
