The Mayans: the civilization that was technologically ahead of its time

The Mayans had such advanced knowledge of astronomy that they knew that in the center of our galaxy there is a black hole with a diameter of one light year.
The Mayans were a civilization that existed for more than 2 thousand years between the years 250 and 900 of our era. It was a population between 15 and 20 million people in what is now the city of Yucatan in Mexico, and extended to the south, Costa Rica and Guatemala.

The archaeological evidence found suggests that the Mayans were one of the first civilizations to develop a written language, use modern mathematical methods and build huge astronomical observatories. All this when Europe was going through the dark ages.

The Mayans were a civilization that enjoyed having an astronomy, advanced architecture for its time. The Mayans measured time and that for them was magical, they recorded Venus and the changes of the moon and eclipses.

The scientific progress of the Mayans was so great that they knew that in the center of our galaxy there is a black hole with a diameter of one light year and that it is a place without a star, and they called this phenomenon the great fissure. This astronomical knowledge was understood by ancient Mayan astronomers during that time.

The Mayans believed that their astronomical knowledge came from their gods and that their gods were found in the stars. According to some experts it is very possible that these gods could have been aliens that somehow had connections with the Mayans.

According to the Mayans, that astronomical knowledge was not something that they discovered, but rather it was a gift that was given to them by the gods, it is not something material, but rather it is knowledge and it is like a kind of currency with which it is bought in the universe.
