Baltic Sea Anomaly: Did they find a UFO at the bottom of the sea?

In April 2011, a group of Swedish treasure hunters called ‘Ocean X’, led by Peter Lindberg, announced with great fanfare the discovery of a strange and huge object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

From there, it was christened the famous Baltic UFO. But much later it was learned that it is nothing more than a glacial deposit, a rock formation dragged by the ice to the sea thousands of years ago.

Volker Brüchert, an associate professor of geology at Stockholm University, came to that conclusion after studying samples provided by its discoverer, Peter Lindberg, who declined to comment.

The strange and huge object found on the sea floor was about 60 meters in diameter and its curious oval shape, with two beaks and long symmetrical projections, along with mysterious drag marks of several hundred meters, made Lindberg think he said the object had fallen into the sea and slid along the bottom until it was completely immobile in its current position.

Speculation was immediately sparked, from an ancient Nazi experiment to the remains of Atlantis or, better yet, a crashed alien ship there who knows when.

Be that as it may, the object was called “the Baltic anomaly” and since then Lindberg has done everything possible to echo it and raise funds for further expeditions.

At the same time, of course, he collected worldwide headlines and massive publicity for his company.

Volker Brüchert, after analyzing the data collected by the treasure hunter, who declined to comment, said that it was actually a rock formation dragged by glaciers into deep water a few thousand years ago.

Brüchert said of the sample the treasure hunter gave him: “I found a black mineral that could very well be volcanic rock.”

“My hypothesis is that this object, this large structure, was formed during the Ice Age, many thousands of years ago.”

“It is good that there are critical voices on this alleged Baltic Sea mystery,” adding:

“What the Ocean X team was completely unaware of is that most of the samples they took from the seafloor were granite, gneiss (rocks with the same composition as granite) and sandstone.”

And that, according to the scientist, is exactly what we would expect to see in a glacial basin. The entire Baltic Sea is a large glacial basin, a region carved by ice thousands and thousands of years ago.

The study of the depths of the sea began only a few decades ago, in this way, ancient ships, metallic objects such as coins, crockery and bottles were found, in a word, the archaeological treasures after their shipwreck.

But there is also the possibility that, in addition, supposedly unnatural formations can be found that are unknown flying objects that collided, and could even be constructions left by ancient extraterrestrial civilizations.
