Astrophysicists suggest drilling several wells in search of traces of possible life.

Scientists at the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard University do not exclude the presence of underground life on Mars.
They suggest that large lakes with frozen or even liquid water could have survived in the bowels of the planet. They write about this in an article published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

The researchers believe that studying the surface of Mars is not enough to search for life. They suggest that bacteria can live in underground lakes that can exist in conditions unusual for other organisms.

To test their hypothesis, scientists propose to drill several wells several tens of kilometers deep. Experts believe that this will be possible in the next decade.
